Last night I went to see 2 of the dopest artists on the face of the planet….

Lady Alma

J*Davey

I have written about Lady Alma before (archives) encouraging you to listen to her music. You don’t listen to me tho…lol. She is the absolute truth. A beast with her live performance and probably the most warm, delightful performer you will ever see. Like a big family reunion. Her loooooong awaited (7 years?) album should be on its way in the very near future.

J*Davey on the other hand….is a bit more brash. Like going from your family reunion into a bar fight. Its inappropriate, dangerous and you prolly shouldnt be involved….but you love it. The potty mouthed Jack Davey (the lead female singer), is like a tiger with a microphone.
<—-Jack Davey is a gurl

One minute she is softly whispering and the next minute she is threating physical violence on all opposing females. With Brook D’Leau as producer and keyboard maniac, they were everything I expected. I’ve never done acid, but J*Davey’s show is what I imagine it would be like.

J*Davey-“Division of My Joy”

Silver Shadow

I often say stuff like “_______ song is my favorite song ever” or “________ is in my top 5 songs of all time”.

Well, one song that truely is in my ever changing top 5 songs of all time is “Silver Shadow” by Atlantic Starr.

Atlantic Starr has had about 4 female lead vocalists during the bands history. Singing lead on this song is probably the most popular of those lead singers, who also sang lead on their mega hit “Always”…… Barbara Weathers.

Aftet being at work for 35 straight days and counting…with no sign of it ending anytime soon….I’m looking for my Silver Shadow.

From the 1985 album As The Band Turns

Atlantic Starr-“Silver Shadow”

P.S.
And as it stands now, my top 5 is….
1. Gap Band-“Outstanding” (Live Version)
2. Isley Brothers– “Voyage To Atlantis”
3. Al Green– “Simply Beautiful”
4. Change-“Searching” (Featuring Luther Vandross)
5. Atlantic Starr-“Silver Shadow”

This is subject to change at any time….
