Throwback Thursday: “The Fellas: – A Tribute To The Guy Group

So…I’m somewhat ashamed to say that my last full scale mix project was 10 years ago. TEN YEARS AGO. Yes, I’ve been on my Dr. Dre / D’Angelo / Lauryn Hill / Andre 3000 / **insert name of artist with no recent product**.

Life has thrown me a curveball or 20 and my focus hasn’t been on music as music as in earlier times in my life. However, I got the fire back and I got some stuff coming down the pipeline…

So, with no further ado….

Throwback Thursday: Digital Underground – “The Return of the Crazy One”

When their album The Body Hat Syndrome came out in 1993, I used to call my local radio station, [redacted] in Indianapolis to ask them to play this song. They would always tell me that they would get it right on for me and I would wait by the radio for HOOOUURS and nothing.

Nothing…

I did that for a couple of other songs that I loved and got the same B.S. lie. I hate radio….but I digress.

With this as the lead single from 1993’s The Body Hat Syndrome, it still kinda puzzles me how this album and song flew under the radar. I mean, I know Dr. Dre and Gangsta Rap and hip-hop changed and yada yada.

Still this a fun song, from a fun group, from a really good album.

“It’s the return of the crazy one….”
